Studio C is a hit sketch comedy series that the whole family can enjoy. Like the popular TV show Saturday Night Live, the cast performs original sketches that parody American culture and the hilariously awkward moments of everyday life; but with a refreshingly wholesome yet hilarious spin. With their huge fan-base and increasing popularity, Studio C aims to produce clean, family-oriented comedy for a national audience.

I've heard a lot about Studio C and have been meaning to check it out, so when the DVD came up for review, I watched the three YouTube clips and jumped at the chance to review it. The three clips made me laugh so I taped a couple of episodes while waiting for my DVD to arrive (the DVD arrived much later than I originally anticipated so I had to push this review back a few days so I would have time to watch it).

Well, I didn't find the episodes very funny and I was disappointed because the clips were so good. My children had also found other clips on YouTube that I found funny, too, so I was confused. The DVD arrived and I had to wait a few days before I could watch it. We sat down as a family and started watching it. The first episode was hilarious. The second episode was hilarious. The third episode was hilarious. (Can you see where I'm going with this?) I didn't find every skit funny but I found the majority of each episode to be funny and some had me laughing so hard I was crying.

I'm not sure if I just had to warm up to the cast or what but now I sing their praises along with everyone else! (It reminds me of when I first started watching "The Office," I didn't think it was funny at all but it grew on me and I laughed--until it lost it some at the end, but that's a conversation for another time.) I actually was talking to a friend about Studio C who said she didn't find it funny so I told her my experience and encouraged her to hang in there and keep watching!

The format reminds me of Saturday Night Live and what I love about this is it's clean and funny. I love that I can put it on with my children and we can laugh together. I don't need to worry about hiding their eyes or cringing when certain things are said or hoping most of it goes over their heads. The cast is talented and funny and they work well together. This is entertainment for the entire family that I highly recommend and give it 5 Stars!!
